Source register

The generated source index is built from src/data/source-register.yaml. It contains the direct URL, authority, citation, publication/ effective date, status, access date and research note for each source.

  1. Confirm it is the official instrument or clearly label vendor/guidance status.
  2. Open the direct URL; do not rely on a search snippet.
  3. Compare citation, provision and effective date with the legal-status record.
  4. Check corrigenda, amendments, consolidations, FAQs and later decisions.
  5. Confirm entity/activity applicability.
  6. Record interpretation uncertainty and reviewer.

Official explanatory notes simplify understanding but do not replace the Gazette. Vendor product pages in the market scan are used only for category and claimed-capability discovery; claims are not independently verified.

A production legal-configuration release should preserve the fetched primary file, retrieval time, content hash and licence/public-record metadata in a controlled research archive. This repository stores source metadata and links, not duplicate copies of every government PDF. If an official URL changes, preserve the old hash and add the new source/version; do not silently replace history.

[SRC-ID] Instrument, issuing authority, citation/provision,
publication date; effective date/status; direct URL; accessed YYYY-MM-DD.

Legal propositions in narrative pages cite the page frontmatter source IDs and, for high-impact details, the exact provision in text/table. The machine validation rejects unknown source IDs.

  • G.S.R. 892(E)’s seven Rules corrections are incorporated, but no official consolidated Rules text was located; consumers must read G.S.R. 846(E) and the corrigendum together;
  • Board member appointment and operational portal notifications were not located;
  • government standards/interfaces for statutory Consent Manager independent certification remain open;
  • many sector instruments require entity-specific consolidation and counsel review.

See open questions and change log before relying on a draft or medium-confidence item.
